Elijah Istchenko
LEAD PASTOR

Elijah and his wife, Elizabeth arrived with their two children in May, 2024. They came from Whitehorse, Yukon, and have added another child to the family. Boasting a largely blue-collar background, Elijah was saved in 2018 and began serving in his local church immediately. He has served formally and informally in a variety of ministries ranging from building maintenance, children, youth, outreach, bible studies, discipleship groups, and preaching/teaching. He successfully graduated from Northwest Baptist Seminary and College’s Immerse program in 2024 with a Master of Arts in Biblical Leadership. He is passionate about the preaching and teaching the Word of God, and seeing the gospel proclaimed faithfully by the local church.

"Since I became a follower of Jesus Christ, at the Mustard Seed Street Church in 1995, I have felt God's call upon my life to serve in Christian ministry. I have had the privilege of serving in many different contexts over the years , ranging from Street Ministry, Overseas Missions and Pastoral Ministry.

Currently I am pursuing studies at Northwest College and Seminary, and I am so thankful to be able to serve in a leadership capacity at KBFC. The team is incredible and the people are amazing! I praise God for how I see him working in this Church Community."
